Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers missed his first game of the season on Thursday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Leonard was ruled out of Thursday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks after falling on his hip late in the game on Wednesday night. Leonard is now labeled as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Boston Celtics due to the same issue.
As previously said, Leonard had appeared in every game up to Thursday’s loss to the Thunder, which was quite an accomplishment for him and the squad. The Clippers have had a string of bad injury luck in recent years, most notably with Leonard, so his availability to begin the season is crucial.
Leonard is considered day-to-day right now, per head coach Ty Lue, so this doesn’t seem like the type of injury that will sideline him for an extended period of time. That said, the Clippers will always be cautious with their star forward, and currently have him as questionable for this game against Boston.
The Celtics have Jayson Tatum listed as questionable for this game, so there is a chance that both teams will be without their best players. This would be unfortunate, but also understandable, as both Leonard and Tatum are banged up right now with different injuries.
