According to a report, Galatasaray has “submitted a concrete offer” for Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala.
The 25-year-old could be set to leave the City Ground during the current transfer window with Italian clubs Juventus and Napoli are “also pushing for him” this month.
Orel Mangala has been a key player for Nottingham Forest
However, Plettenberg has also reported that interest from the two Italian clubs is “concrete”, with both clubs “pushing” to sign him on a permanent deal this month. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Mangala, but Galatasaray have made the first move with a bid to Forest.
Mangala joined Forest from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2022, following the Reds’ promotion to the Premier League. He has made 45 top flight appearances for the club, scoring twice. Eighteen of those have come this season.
In November, pundit Darren Fletcher told The Garibaldi Red Podcast: “I spoke to Roberto Martinez when he (Mangala) first came because I’d not come across him and he’d played for Roberto with Belgium. He said he’s a wonderful game manager, technically very good and he’s the kind of player you can put into any situation and he’s fine.
“You can see by his personality that he never gets flustered. He’s got the game-face all the time and he’s ice-cool in any situation. If you speak to managers they will say that if they’ve got a midfielder who will take the ball in any situation, in any area, they will pick them 10 times out of 10.”
