_Lopetegui Looks Forward to Wolves Reunion, But Remains Tight-Lipped on Past Regrets_

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is eager to reunite with “familiar faces” when his team faces Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow in the Stateside Cup pre-season tournament. However, he declined to comment on any potential regrets regarding his previous stint at Wolves.

Lopetegui, who joined Wolves in late 2022, successfully steered the club away from relegation in the 2022/23 season. Nevertheless, his tenure was cut short due to disagreements over transfer funds amidst financial issues in the summer of 2023. He resigned just four days before the new campaign began and was replaced by Gary O’Neil.

When asked to reflect on his time at Wolves, Lopetegui expressed his admiration for the fans and players. “I have a big esteem for all the fans and the players,” he told the Express & Star.

The highly anticipated match takes place at the Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville, USA, on July 27, kicking off at 7 pm local time (12 am UK time). Lopetegui’s return to face his former club promises to be an exciting encounter.
