Jimmy Butler’s Agent Issues Strong Statement On Star’s Future With Heat

Jimmy Butler’s agent, Bernard Lee, issued a strong statement on Butler’s future with the Miami Heat in the wake of former NBA center and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins saying Butler and the Heat should part ways

Lee said Butler isn’t going anywhere. He also stated that Butler will win a title with the Heat.

The Heat are 25-23 on the season. They are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Before beating the Sacramento Kings on January 31, Miami was on a seven-game losing streak.

Butler is making $45.2 million this season. He’ll make $48.8 million next season and has a player option worth $52.4 million for the 2025-26 season. The Heat can sign Butler to an extension this summer.

One of the best players in the NBA, Butler is averaging 21.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 49.8% from the field, 43.7% from beyond the arc and 87.9% from the free-throw line.

Surprisingly, the Heat are only 16-17 when Butler plays. It’s been a strange season for Miami, as Erik Spoelstra’s group is 27th in the NBA in points per game and seventh in points per game allowed. Butler, 34, has a plus-minus of +35, so he’s been impactful.

A six-time All-Star, Butler signed with the Heat in the summer of 2019. Miami lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020 finals, lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 2021 playoffs, lost to the Boston Celtics in the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals and lost to the Denver Nuggets in the 2024 Finals.

Butler is averaging 21.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.4 blocks with the Heat. All signs point toward the future Hall of Famer spending the rest of his career in South Beach.
