The Sun said that before Sir Jim Ratcliffe could roll up his sleeves and start working at United, he could wait “six to eight weeks.”
The agreement, which will see him spearhead Ineos’ attempt to acquire a 25% share of the team, is reportedly quite close to completion; however, the Premier League’s approval is still needed.
A’six to eight-week wait’ is anticipated, so that procedure is unlikely to be completed quickly.
According to the report, Ratcliffe will not be permitted to invest funds in the team until the Premier League has given its official consent to the purchase.
Richard Arnold, the CEO of Manchester United, will leave his role on Wednesday, and Patrick Stewart will become the temporary CEO.
