Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Jesse Lingard’s search for a new club continues after leaving the Reds last summer
Former Nottingham Forest forward Jesse Lingard has offered himself to Barcelona, it is claimed.
The ex-Manchester United and West Ham forward arrived at the City Ground in July 2022 on a free transfer. But Lingard struggled badly during his one and only season in Garibaldi Red as he scored just twice for Forest with both goals coming in the Carabao Cup before being released in the summer.
It has been previously claimed that Lingard was offered a contract at Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq who are coached by Steven Gerrard. However, a move never materialised and he remains without a club.

And according to Sport, the forward has offered himself to Barcelona. It is said that he is hopeful a move to the Camp Nou could be a ‘springboard’ for him to find his best form and showcase his ability.
The La Liga giant’s poor financial situation is no secret around Europe as they face Financial Fair Play limitations. Lingard’s availability could present an opportunity to Xavi given that he is only expected to cost £1.7million (€2m) to keep him at the club for the remainder of the campaign.
Recent reports have also claimed that Everton are considering a January move. It is said that the Toffees could reportedly offer him a short-term deal until the end of the season.
