Jerry Rice’s son Brenden on possibly joining 49ers

If Brenden Rice joins the San Francisco 49ers, he will have huge shoes to fill.

The son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice addressed to the media at the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday, saying he had a formal interview with his father’s former organization.

“I was ecstatic,” Brenden Rice stated about his encounter with the 49ers. “Just to go back and forth on some issues, like how I could improve, how I could contribute to the 49ers squad, and just being a part of where my father left his legacy.

“He went out there to compete. Purdy’s performance past season was consistent with how he has always been, according to Brenden. “He’s gone and competed against whomever; no matter what the opportunity is, he’s going to take advantage of it, and that’s the type of person you want on your side.
