Jamie O’Hara has admitted that the Old Firm is one game he wishes he played in ahead of the Rangers clash against Celtic on Saturday (30 December).
Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday (29 December, 08:57am), the pundit said it is a “massive” occasion when the two sides play each other as the atmosphere inside the stadium is “electric”.Rangers: Jamie O’Hara shares Old Firm regret ahead of clash v Celtic
Responding to O’Hara, former Gers and Hoops forward Kenny Miller added that you can “barely hear yourself think” as the noise inside the stadiums is “incredible”.
“Kenny, obviously you played in this game a few times yourself,” said O’Hara. “Massive. This is one game I wish I got to play in as a player because it is electric. The atmosphere, just talk me through the experiences of walking on that pitch on that game day.”
“You used that word electric,” responded Miller. “You can barely hear yourself think. You can barely hear your teammates shouting at you. On that first whistle, the noise inside the stadiums is incredible.”
This is a game that is talked about worldwide when the two sides go head to head with one another due to their fierce rivalry on and off the pitch.
There is so much history between the two sides, so when they do come up against each other, there is so much at stake and no one wants to give anything away.
As Miller alluded to, the atmosphere in both stadiums is always lively as the fans try and give their team that extra push to go out there and earn the three points.
Although it won’t be a deciding factor, whoever comes out on top on Saturday will know they will have taken a major step towards lifting the SPFL title this season.
The Gers have been making great strides since Philippe Clement walked through the door at Ibrox, but he will know this is his biggest test yet as he looks to make a statement against their Glasgow rivals.
