An Iowa journalist was met with an unexpected reaction from an NCAA representative when he voiced concerns about Caitlin Clark’s press conference being held in a loading dock
Following a record-breaking Elite Eight game against LSU, Clark and the Hawkeyes traveled to Cleveland for their Final Four game against the University of Connecticut. During a press conference on Thursday ahead of the anticipated Friday game, reporter Adam Jacobi noticed subpar conditions at the presser. In a video he captured, the noise of heavy machinery disrupted Clark’s responses, requiring her to lean in to hear questions.
Jacobi raised the concern with the NCAA, but the response he received was not reassuring. The representative informed Jacobi that there was no ideal solution for the breakout area and suggested that Jacobi was in the minority with his complaints. The rep pointed out that Caitlin Clark had provided media access for nearly an hour that day, implying that if Jacobi couldn’t obtain what he needed during one of her four media sessions, it was his responsibility.
