Ilkay Gundogan is allegedly tired of living in Barcelona and has already met with Galatasaray to discuss a possible transfer, according to a report made earlier this week by Turkish journalist Burhan Can Terzi.
But when SPORT reached out to Gundo’s representative today to verify the rumor, he dismissed it with a laugh, saying his client is content in Barcelona.
The German midfielder’s Manchester City contract expired this summer, and he was signed by Barcelona.
However, Gundogan chastised a few of his teammates for their actions after Barca’s 2-1 loss in the aftermath of El Clasico.
The 33-year-old signed a two-year contract with Barca, with an additional year’s option. Barca will undoubtedly receive a large sum of money for Gundo if the rumors are accurate and he decides to depart after a year.
Barca received €12 million this summer to send “an unhappy” Franck Kessie to Saudi Arabia. A year earlier, the Ivorian midfielder had joined as a free agent.
