“Former Auburn Defensive Lineman’s Impact Propels Steelers to Playoff Contention”

Montravius Adams, a former standout from Auburn University, opted to forego the free agency process once again. Instead, he inked a new two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers worth $5 million, mirroring his previous contract extension with the team in 2022. This decision reaffirms Adams’ dedication to the Steelers and highlights his value to the NFL franchise.

The value of the contract has not been reported.

In 2023, Adams reached a career high by playing 416 defensive snaps. He started at nose tackle in the Steelers’ first eight games of the season, then missed four contests with an ankle injury.

In the first seven games of the season, Adams played 335 defensive snaps. After getting hurt two plays into a 20-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 2, Adams returned to play 100 defensive snaps in the remaining five regular-season games and one playoff contest.

During the 2023 campaign, Adams recorded 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, one pass defended and one forced fumble.
