Filip Helander Set For Huge Post Rangers Transfer As Fans All Say The Same Thing

The centre-back was plagued by injuries during his time at Ibrox but has fared well since leaving

Filip Helander is set to sign for Anderlecht just eight months after leaving Rangers on a free transfer, according to a report.

And Light Blues fans think it is evidence their club is “cursed” after the centre-back’s latter days at Ibrox were spent injured. The 30-year-old’s last appearance in royal blue came in April 2022, and over a year of inactivity followed before his release in the summer of last year.

A favourite of the support in his early days after some strong displays at the heart of defence following his move from Bologna, the Swede began to struggle with a series of injuries. However since signing for Danish side Odense, Helander has stayed injury free and performed well in the top flight.

So much so that the Belgian giants are interested and have submitted a formal offer, according to Fabrizio Romano. He adds that talks are scheduled for the next few days.

Rangers supporters feel like it’s just their luck that a player they couldn’t get out on the pitch begins to prosper after moving away.

One said: “I swear we play with medicine balls for training, on a live minefield, followed by shark infested ice baths… Kemar Roofe will be top goal scorer in the Championship next year. Guaranteed.”

Another wrote: “If this doesn’t sum up our luck these days then I don’t know what does.”

Another asked: “What are we doing with these players behind closed doors?”

While another added:” Played in 10 back-to-back league games for Odense after missing nearly 100 games in his last two seasons with us. As a club we are cursed beyond belief injury wise.”
