Expert: If Tomas Soucek Isn’t Fired, David Moyes Will Face Serious Challenges At West Ham United.

Frank McAvennie, a former striker for West Ham United, is a welcome addition to our exclusive columnist lineup. He will share his opinions on the most talked-about topics at the London Stadium every week.

Frank McAvennie thinks David Moyes and Tomas Soucek, the midfielder for West Ham, will have a “headache.”

The Czech Republic international has not been as “influential” as he once was, according to the pundit, who believes he needs a little time off the team.

According to McAvennie, players like Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta, James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen, and Said Benrahma should all start in front of Soucek.

West Ham

Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie stated: “I think Moyes is going to have a problem if he keeps playing Soucek, who is a good player, don’t get me wrong. Moyes keeps playing him.

“You can’t keep Kudus off the team right now, and you have midfield players like Paqueta, Bowen, Benrahma, and Ward-Prowse.” It is not enough to merely counterattack with all these talented players.

“Moyes is experiencing a headache. In my opinion, Soucek shouldn’t be playing before any of those players. He’s a good player; I’m not saying that, but he needs to take a step back and find his form again. He has demonstrated brief bursts of his abilities, but he hasn’t had the same impact as before.

West Ham

Soucek has made 170 appearances in claret and blue since moving to East London from Slavia Prague in 2020. He has made 15 appearances so far this season, but his contract expires this summer, so his future is still uncertain.

Additionally, Inter Milan wants to sign him on a free transfer, while Juventus is preparing a low-ball offer for his services, according to Corriere dello Sport (October 11) [Calciomercato, October 18].
