After dropping points, Nottingham Forest might not have to spend seven figures due to FFP concerns.

Gonzalo Montiel ‘wouldn’t mind’ joining Flamengo in the summer, reportedly, if Nottingham Forest were to finalize a £7 million deal.

August saw the World Cup winner arrive to the City Ground from Sevilla, the Europa League winners from the previous season. He signed a reported £9.4 million contract to begin his season-long loan with the option to stay permanently.

After battling for playing time under former Reds manager Steve Cooper, Montiel first saw an increase in playing time under Nuno. Early in Nuno’s tenure, the full-back started in victories against Newcastle and Manchester United, but he hasn’t played for Forest since the FA Cup victory over Bristol City in February.

If Montiel plays 50 percent of Forest’s games this season, it is rumored that the possibility for his loan move to become permanent will become a requirement. In recent months, the 27-year-old has not played for the Reds.
