“I DON’T THINK WE WILL EVER SEE THAT DOMINATION AGAIN”: JANNIK SINNER BIG THREE COMPARISON RUBBISHED BY COACH DARREN CAHILL

Any sort of comparison between Jannik Sinner and the Big Three of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal is premature says coach, Darren Cahill after his epic win over Grigor Dimitrov to win the Miami Open.

It was a 6-3, 6-1 win for Sinner who adds the Miami Open to his triumphs at the Rotterdam Open and Australian Open this season and such has been his dominance this season has seen comparisons with the big names come out and Cahill was quick to say that he doesn’t see the Big Three era ever happening again.

He also said that he finds it a tad unfair to compare Sinner, Alcaraz and Rune to that generation as they have barely had time to grow as players and are nowhere near that level yet both in terms of titles won and as players.

“Well, I don’t think anybody should be comparing this generation yet with Novak, Federer, Nadal. What they were able to achieve for so many years is remarkable. I don’t think we will ever see that domination again no matter what,” Cahill replied.

“I wouldn’t start comparing what Carlos or Jannik or Holger are doing just yet to the generation prior, because I think that’s unfair. They need time to establish themselves. The level is right up there, but they need to win a lot more before you start comparing them to those boys,” he said.
