Despite RB’s Farewell Message, Titans GM Keeps Derrick Henry’s Return As An Option.

The future of Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry will be up in the air this offseason as he’s set to hit free agency.

With this impending news, Henry gave what seemed to be a goodbye speech to Titans fans after the team’s 28–20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their regular season finale on Sunday. Then, the Titans parted ways with coach Mike Vrabel on Tuesday, which left Henry shocked and made fans wonder if this decision would impact Henry’s next move.

But, when asked about Henry’s status with the team, Titans general manager Ran Carthon said the team is keeping the door open about bringing him back, and that those conversations will include the new head coach.

“That will be the new head coach and I having a conversation,” Carthon said, via Jim Wyatt. “I had a really good conversation with Derrick yesterday on the way out. We had our conversation, which I’ll keep between he and I, but the door is never closed.”

Henry’s spent all of his eight NFL seasons with the Titans. He’s rushed for a total of 9,502 yards and 90 touchdowns in that span.
