Postecoglou is currently enduring a four-game losing streak and has indicated that more reinforcement is needed to continue his project at Tottenham Hotspur.
Danie Levy will reportedly help finance three signings in key areas for Ange Postecoglou this summer, amid strong suggestions his future at Spurs is secure.
Outlandish speculation that the manager’s future was in the balance seems to have been wiped away, in spite of the fact the club is set to miss out on a top four finish. Tottenham have matched last season’s points tally but have not picked up a result in over a month, currently winless in four games.
Postecoglou has hinted that he has become frustrated with his team’s inability to carry out his instructions accurately given the options at his disposal and The Times claims there could be multiple exits this summer.
The report claims up to seven players could leave while three big arrivals are being planned as the club hunts for talents who fit with Postecoglou’s style of play. It’s thought a striker, a midfielder and a centre-back will all be sought as the Aussie boss tries to reinforce his side’s spine.
Younger players with a high work ethic who have good possession skills but are also risk-takers are apparently being scouted. Spurs splashed £200m last summer after Harry Kane’s £82m exit to Bayern Munich, with only Chelsea spending more (£402m).
Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, James Maddison and Micky van de Ven have all been successes and have boosted transfer confidence in Postecoglou. He could be ruthless this off-season with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Emerson Royal and Ryan Sessegnon all potentially moved on while offers for Richarlison and Yves Bissouma will be accepted if the price is right.
That would infer that more than three arrivals would be secured this summer, with some likely to be low-cost recruits. Tottenham are one of few clubs well-positioned within Financial Fair Play, despite the absence of European football this season.
They could capitalise on the likes of Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle, who all may look to move assets on by the end of the current Premier League spending cycle on June 30 amid their battles with FFP.
Postecoglou – who is not yet 12 months into his four-year contract at Spurs amid former tentative links with Liverpool – has also yet to make a decision on loanee Timo Werner of Champions League-bound RB Leipzig.
