After A Crucial Burnley Victory, Only One Arsenal Player Makes It To The BBC’s Team Of The Week.

Arsenal defeated Burnley 3-1 over the weekend to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after losing to Newcastle.

William Saliba made it into Garth Crooks’ Team of the Week because he was a formidable force at the back for the Gunners.

“In the early part of the season, Saliba seemed to dominate my team selections,” the BBC expert remarked. His omission from my selections lately is, in fact, closely related to Arsenal’s recent losses at West Ham and Newcastle.

“Those losses had an impact on Mikel Arteta’s ability to retain a cool head or to offer any clear perspective about those fixtures. Two games and two victories later their manager is all smiles and Saliba finds himself back in my team.

“Suddenly everything appears rosy in the Gunners garden again until the next (VAR) offence or perceived injustice when Arteta will descend into hysterics again. Whatever happened to that cool, calm, sharp, introspection.”
