Colin Fray says Nottingham Forest fans would always welcome 27-year-old back at the City Ground

Colin Fray has delivered his verdict on the decision by Nottingham Forest to let Joe Worrall leave for Besiktas on loan.

The Forest-supporting commentator has been speaking with the Shut Up And Show More Football podcast.

So, what has Fray said about the decision taken by Forest to let Worrall leave on loan for the remainder of the campaign? Let’s take a closer look…

What Colin Fray has said about Joe Worrall leaving Nottingham Forest

Well, it seems clear that Fray is a huge fan of Worrall and believes he should be lauded for what he achieved as a player at the City Ground.

The 27-year-old centre-back had fallen way down the pecking during the 2023/24 campaign – making just nine appearances.

Earlier in the season, it was claimed that Worrall had fallen out with Steve Cooper and he’d decided not to pick him.

Fray believes that Worrall should be welcome back at Forest any time, however, for the work he did in getting the club back to the Premier League.

He told the Shut Up And Show More Football podcast: “I think we’ll remember him as somebody who always wore his heart on his sleeve, was very forthright, whenever he would speak in interviews right from when he made his debut.

“I suppose that told you a lot about where he was going to go in his career and once he proved himself that he was going to be capable of playing at the level Forest were playing at, he was always going to be captain’s armband material.

“He, like everybody else who was part of that squad, will always be remembered. Worrall is on loan at the moment, like so many Forest players, whenever he’s going to be at the City Ground, this goes for all Forest players, they will be welcomed back whoever they may be playing for at the time.”
