Browns WR Carted Off vs. Jaguars; Jones Returns from Cramps

SEPT 15 – CARTED OFF – After seeing second-year offensive tackle Dawand Jones exit the field with the training staff, the Cleveland Browns had a much scarier sight to start the second half as David Bell was carted off the field.

Bell suffered the injury on his six-yard third-down reception. After being brought down, he was never able to get back up. What was bothering Bell was not apparent, but he was carted off the field due to the injury.

Prior to the injury, the former third-round pick recorded three catches for 27 yards, as he was the second-most targeted receiver Sunday at the time of his injury.

While the Browns will have to wait to hear more about Bell’s injury, they have seen the return of Jones return from the cramping that forced him to exit the game in the first half. After entering the game with both Jedrick Wills Jr. and Jack Conklin listed as pregame inactive, the Browns’ depth at offensive tackle is slimmed.

SEPT 15 – INJURY-The Cleveland Browns were already shorthanded at offensive tackle heading into Sunday’s clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. continues to rehab from last season’s knee injury, and veteran right tackle Jack Conklin were listed as inactives for Sunday.

This makes the sight of second-year offensive tackle Dawand Jones heading to the locker room with an injury all the more concerning. However, it seems the injury isn’t a serious one, as Jones has been listed as “questionable” to return as he deals with cramps, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot.

SEPT 14 HAPPY? It is standard operating procedure now: A player on the roster has a birthday. His team’s social media unit tweets out a “Happy Birthday” message.

No big deal, right? Unless – maybe – the tweet is about the beleaguered Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

The S.O.P. wish on Saturday has resulted in almost two million views and 2,000 comments … and most of them are not of a “happy” variety.

Watson is in the headlines following another sexual assault allegation. … maybe reason enough for the audience to react with distain toward a social media team that in most ways is simply doing its non-judgmental job.
