Italian MotoGP rider Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, riding for Ducati Lenovo, has further cemented his status as a rising legend within the sport after clinching his eighth victory of the 2024 season at the Japanese Grand Prix. This latest triumph not only narrows his points gap with Jorge Martin, his rival from Prima Pramac Racing, to a mere 10 points but also aligns Bagnaia with elite MotoGP racers who have achieved at least eight wins in a single season. His extraordinary streak places him in company with icons like Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, and Marc Marquez.

This season has been monumental for Ducati, too, with Bagnaia’s win marking the 900th Grand Prix victory for an Italian rider and setting a record of 13 consecutive wins for Ducati—an impressive achievement that mirrors Honda’s winning streak in the early 2000s. Bagnaia’s recent performances underscore his growth since winning the 2022 World Championship, as he continues to demonstrate the skills and composure that make him a strong contender for the 2024 title.

As the championship nears its conclusion, fans and analysts are keenly watching to see if Bagnaia will catch or even surpass some of the winning records set by past champions. The next race at Phillip Island in Australia will be critical for Bagnaia to maintain his momentum. Ducati’s dominance in the 2024 season and Bagnaia’s consistent performance put them in a prime position to challenge for another world title, keeping MotoGP fans on edge as the season unfolds.
