Minnesota Vikings Sign Aaron Rodgers to Four-Year, $75M Deal
Minneapolis, MN – In a stunning move that is set to shake up the NFC North, the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers on a four-year, $75 million contract. The deal includes a guaranteed $50 million, securing the future Hall of Famer in purple and gold for the foreseeable future.
Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion, was released earlier this offseason after an injury-plagued stint with the New York Jets. At 41, questions remain about his ability to stay healthy, but the Vikings are betting on his experience and leadership to elevate their offense.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aaron to Minnesota,” said Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. “His resume speaks for itself, and we believe he still has the talent to compete at a high level. This signing underscores our commitment to building a championship-caliber team.”
The move also marks a seismic shift in the NFC North, as Rodgers spent 18 seasons tormenting the Vikings while leading the Green Bay Packers. He now joins their biggest rival, following in the footsteps of Brett Favre, who made a similar switch in 2009.
Rodgers will take over as the Vikings’ starting quarterback, a position that has been in flux since the departure of Kirk Cousins. His arrival brings immediate Super Bowl aspirations to Minnesota, which has not won an NFL championship since 1969.
“I still have a lot left in the tank,” Rodgers said in a statement. “The Vikings believe in me, and I’m ready to prove them right.”
With training camp on the horizon, all eyes will be on Rodgers as he begins a new chapter in his storied career.
