Better driver than Verstappen’ crashes his car in spectacular fashion

Discussions arose after NASCAR driver Kyle Larson claimed he is a better all-round driver than Max Verstappen. However, his performance in the NASCAR playoffs at Atlanta did not help support the American’s words.

Recently, Larson’s statements caused a debate. He said he was convinced he would have a better chance in a Formula 1 car than Verstappen in a NASCAR. Some of his American colleagues backed the NASCAR driver, while others thought it was a nonsensical comparison.

Better than Verstappen? Larson crashes in NASCAR playoffs

Larson failed to back up his statements last Sunday with a strong race. The driver lost control of his car a few laps before the end of the Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He hit the wall at high speed, got back on track, and caught Chase Briscoe. As a result, both drivers started the playoffs with a bad result.

Afterwards, Larson said he did not know what caused him to lose control of the wheel. “There was no warning at all. It just caught me way off guard. I was never once, even in that same corner, like loose. It just started stepping out and I overcorrected,” he is quoted by Nascar.com.
