Chris Sutton has given his prediction of the Premier League match between Brentford and Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
The former Aston Villa striker and BBC Sport pundit has said that he thinks that there will be three goals in the game in London.
So, how has Chris Sutton predicted Brentford against Nottingham Forest to pan out? Let’s take a look.
Chris Sutton says Nottingham Forest to lose to Brentford
Well, former Aston Villa striker Chris Sutton believes that Nottingham Forest will fail to win against Brentford in London on Saturday evening.
The BBC Sport pundit has backed Brentford to beat Forest 2-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League. Paul Merson has also predicted the Bees to win.
Sutton has noted the poor form that Brentford are in at the moment, but he has pointed out that the Bees will have star striker Ivan Toney back for the match after serving a ban.
Toney scored 20 goals and gave four assists in 33 Premier League matches for Brentford last season.
Sutton told BBC Sport: “This is a massive game for all sorts of reasons, with both teams just above the relegation zone.
Brentford have only taken three points from the past 24 available and have lost five in a row in the league, but they have Ivan Toney available again after his eight-month ban, which is a huge lift.
“We don’t know what condition Toney is in physically and mentally after such a long lay-off, but he has been scoring goals for the B team and in behind-closed-doors matches. Now they need him to do the same for the first team.
“Nottingham Forest are 15th, a point and a place above the Bees, after winning their past two league games but they must be concerned about where a possible points deduction would leave them if they are punished after being charged for breaching financial rules.
“So, there is a lot for both teams to play for and I can see this being a real battle. Brentford’s home form has been disappointing of late, with three defeats in four games, but I am still going for them to edge it, just.
“Sutton’s prediction: 2-1.”
My View: Nottingham Forest will win vs Brentford
In my opinion, Nottingham Forest will get the better of Brentford away from home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
I do not expect Nuno’s side to win by a big margin. I think that the Reds will edge it 2-1.
Forest, who are facing potential charges over alleged breaches of profit and sustainability rules (PSR), have won their last two Premier League matches, while Brentford have lost all of their last five league games.
The Reds also beat Blackpool in the FA Cup tie, although they needed a replay to get the job done.
As for Brentford, they lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup in a replay.
