Barcelona’s summer goals is competing with Jude Bellingham and Toni Kroos in terms of statistics.

Barcelona has openly expressed an interest in Girona midfielder Aleix Garcia, with Deco dubbing him a star, while Garcia himself acknowledged in November that he was interested in moving to the Catalan city. Whether the two clubs can agree on the numbers is debatable, but Garcia’s numbers are unquestionable.

Garcia is the third-highest rated midfielder in a big data research, trailing only Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Toni Kroos. Garcia ranks second to Frenkie de Jong in pass accuracy and third in pass frequency, averaging just under 70 passes per game. De Jong is once again at the top of the list, followed by Las Palmas captain Kirian Rodriguez and Garcia. The 26-year-old is also second to Kroos in terms of long passes, with 6.5 per game.

Being Kroos’ second is no consolation prize, as Garcia has emerged as one of the best midfielders this season, following a strong performance last year. Girona manager Michel Sanchez has appointed him as the orchestra’s director, and Garcia is frequently seen moving his teammates around and solving problems.
