Aston Villa Q&A: January Transfer Window, Villa Park Redevelopment Paused And 2024 Targets

BirminghamLive brings you the latest Aston Villa news as John Townley sits down with supporters for a Q&A session

Aston Villa was statistically the second-best team in the country across 2023 as only Man City picked up more points across the calendar year and Liverpool so far this season.

Unai Emery set plenty of new club records last year and the most impressive was the 15-match home league winning run which ended last month. His side remain unbeaten at home in the league since March and the streak will cover an entire year if Villa avoid defeat against Newcastle, Man United, and Nottingham Forest in the coming weeks.

Considering the injuries to key players that Emery has been forced to deal with this season, it makes the job he has performed at Villa Park even more impressive. He has the opportunity to bolster his ranks in the January transfer window.

Villa signed two players last January, Alex Moreno and Jhnon Duran, and Emery held back on further additions to set up a big summer window. This month, Villa is actively looking to add to Emery’s squad, but is well aware that improving his options will be difficult halfway through the campaign.
