Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive brings you the reported interest in former Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha
Aston Villa are reportedly targeting a move for Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha.
According to Football Transfers, the former Crystal Palace man was the subject of an approach from the Villa hierarchy. The 31-year-old joined Galatasaray in the summer following the expiration of his contract at Selhurst Park.
Zaha is very familiar with the Premier League after an eight-year stint in south London. Boss Unai Emery is said to be an admirer of the winger after initially trying to sign him while in charge at Arsenal.

He previously said: “Zaha won games on his own: Tottenham, Manchester City, us. Incredible performances. When we played against Crystal Palace, Zaha showed he was a very good player. I told them: ‘This is the player I know and want.’”
However, a January move is said to be unlikely, having recently committed to a three-year contract last year.
The link has prompted debate among Villa supporters. One said: “Zaha would join AVFC when he was free if he wanted to,” before a second added: “I’m neither for nor against but the difference between 1st and 5th could be a few moments of pure class. Someone like Zaha could produce that, and then he’s gone at the end of the year and we buy big.”
Another continued: “I’d certainly take Zaha at Villa!,” and a fifth concluded: “If you don’t think Zaha improves our team then I don’t know what to say. We need competition for places to constantly push everyone to improve.”
