Anthony Elanga sends four-word reaction on Instagram to Nottingham Forest B-Team star

The Nottingham Forest B-Team were in action last night as they played Sheffield United in the quarter-final of the Premier League Cup. After the game, one of the stars of the show received some praise from a first-team player.

It was a good night for the young Forest outfit who got the chance to play at Bramall Lane. Wearing the Argentina-style away kit, the Reds showcased some South American flair to come through 3-2 against the Blades and reach the semi-final.

Forest chose not to throw any first-team fringe players into the fold for this one. That was a testament to the Reds, with United throwing Will Orsula into the team as a youngster who has played plenty of games for the first team.

Ateef Konate scored twice in two minutes for Forest. Joe Gardner made his first team debut in the FA Cup this season and he opened the scoring inside 12 minutes following a defensive mix-up.

After the game, one first-team star took to Instagram to heap praise on Konate. Clearly, he’s built up some level of rapport with the youngster and we’ve taken a look at what he said to the B-Team star performer.

Anthony Elanga sends message to Nottingham Forest B-Team star

Well, Elanga does feel like one player who signed for the club last summer who has firmly bought into the ethos at the club. He’s registered 13 goal contributions this season and he’s a useful role model to the younger players.

Perhaps intriguingly, Elanga is actually younger than Konate. The 21-year-old is taking the first team by storm and he probably offers Konate an indication that with regular senior football, he could really start to make a career for himself.

After last night’s game, Elanga took to the official Instagram page of Forest to comment on a post that had Konate tagged in it. He posted: “Nooo…You’re too strong”, with Konate replying with: “My broo.”

Now, Konate must be looking at the winger and thinking about what he could achieve if he leaves Forest during the summer transfer window and gets some men’s football under his belt.

At 23, the winger shouldn’t be playing B-Team football and he will almost certainly get himself hooked up with a club in the Football League should he wish to do so.

Elanga had to take a backward step when leaving United to sign for Forest and now Konate could benefit from doing the same in the summer.
