Alexander Isak injury update provided by Eddie Howe before Newcastle face Fulham

Eddie Howe has provided a fresh update on the fitness of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Newcastle United’s ace Alexander Isak is facing uncertainty for the upcoming Fulham game on Saturday, with a last-minute fitness assessment on the cards ahead of their trip to London.

Isak has been seemingly absent from recent training sessions and was substituted at half-time during Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Wolves. With doubts looming, Eddie Howe is prepping Anthony Gordon and William Osula as possible replacements should Isak be unavailable for the visit to Craven Cottage

In his pre-match press briefing, Howe stated: “Let’s see with Alex, hopefully it is not too bad. We’ll find out more today. The ball grazed his eye and we felt at the time that was the main reason for him coming off but he also got a foot injury in that first half. It’s a combination of the two.”
