Alabama football loses another receiver to injury against Vanderbilt

Alabama football already entered the Vanderbilt game down one of its top receivers because of an injury. Then another sustained a big hit in the first half in Nashville.

Kobe Prentice, who made a third-down catch in the final minutes of the second quarter, got crunched by some Vanderbilt defenders. He immediately went with the Alabama training staff to the locker room.

The play was not ruled targeting after a review.

The Crimson Tide was already without Kendrick Law, one of its starting receivers. Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Emmanuel Henderson Jr., Cole Adams and Caleb Odom are some of the other options at receiver.

Prentice, a junior from Calera, entered the game with seven receptions for 92 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Prentice’s catch for the first down was part of a drive Alabama used to go down and score against Vanderbilt. With 1:25 left in the first half, Alabama trails the Commodores 23-14.
