Angel Reese takes shot at Caitlin Clark in deleted social media post

Caitlin Clark has received a lot of scrutiny since she officially launched her WNBA career last month, and one of her most well-known peers is the latest to take a shot at the Indiana Fever star.

Former LSU star Angel Reese, who plays for the Chicago Sky, decided to celebrate her team’s 90-81 victory over the New York Liberty on Thursday night by throwing an unexpected jab at Clark. Reese bragged in a post on X that her team got a win in front of a “packed arena” of 12,000 fans “not just cause of one player on our charter flight.”

Reese later deleted the tweet.

It seems like the point Reese was trying to make is that Clark is not the only player fans want to see. Of course, what Reese and others seem to keep forgetting is that what is good for Clark is also good for the WNBA.

WNBA players and coaches have been pushing for charter flights to become the norm across the league. Thus far, only the Fever and Minnesota Lynx have been able to take a charter flight this season. That has naturally led to some jealousy and talk that Clark is receiving special treatment, but Clark has single-handedly grown the popularity of the WNBA and brought a ton of new money into the league.
