Jermaine Jenas was left seriously impressed by one Nottingham Forest star yesterday and he’s raved about him.
It wasn’t all one-way traffic for Forest yesterday.
Sheffield United competed and in truth, the Reds were indebted to goalkeeper Matz Sels for staying in the game.
Forest won the game thanks to two goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and a strike from Ryan Yates.
The Reds were fantastic on the day and it was a defender who actually caught the eye of Jenas.
He’s raved about him and Forest will hope that he can stay at the club beyond this season.
Jermaine Jenas lauds Nottingham Forest star Murillo
Well, this was some performance from Forest and their fans can be proud of their efforts.
One man who did play well yesterday was Murillo and the Brazilian really shone to the fore during the game.
Jenas was on Match of the Day and he heaped praise on the Brazilian defender.
He said: “Defensively in particular, Murillo was absolutely sensational, and at the other end of the pitch, it was Callum Hudson-Odoi that shone. He did kind of stand out for me, Murillo, in the game today.”
Murillo is going straight to the top
Well, one thing that Forest do have on their side is a number of players who could make them significant profit.
Murillo is being courted by a number of clubs and ultimately keeping him next season could be very difficult.
Hopefully, Forest can stay in the Premier League this season and then the club can keep hold of Murillo.
However, with more big clubs looking at the player, it does feel as though the Reds are fighting a losing battle and Jenas does have a right to praise him yesterday.
Sheffield United had their chances in the game but thankfully, Murillo was class and helped Forest claim a huge three points.
