“Spurs’ £42M Transfer Target Sends Nottingham Forest Fans into Frenzy: Summer Deal Brewing?”

Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly interested in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer season.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest’s standout player, Morgan Gibbs-White, during the summer transfer window.

Forest were punished four points this week for failing to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability standards. They may face additional punishment in the future, so selling an important player to help balance the books is an option.

One option open to them is to sell 24-year-old Gibbs-White, who arrived from Wolves in 2022 and could fetch the club up to £42 million. He was vital in helping Forest avoid relegation from the Premier League last season, and he has been named captain this season, in addition to scoring five goals and providing four assists.

After losing points, Gibbs-White will look to play a big part in helping Forest stay in the Premier League this term, but his future at the City Ground is now somewhat unclear as he remains the club’s most saleable asset

According to talkSPORT, both West Ham and Tottenham are keen on the English midfielder, with Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou being a particular admirer. Spurs have form when it comes to signing young Forest talent, having snapped up Brennan Johnson for in excess of £47m last summer – a deal used by the Reds when trying to persuade the Premier League that they had stayed the right side of spending rules.

Johnson is doing well for Spurs, scoring four goals and setting up six more so far, making him a key player for Postecoglou. “He’s been great,” said the Spurs boss. “For a younger player that’s the hardest area of the pitch to come in and make an impression because you’re usually only judged by one thing and that’s your goal involvements, and everything else in your game doesn’t really register.
