‘We’re missing’… Kelvin Wilson says ‘aggressive’ Nottingham Forest player should be put into Nuno’s starting line-up

Kelvin Wilson has suggested that Nottingham Forest can solve some of their defensive problems by picking Willy Boly.

The man who played for Forest during his career has been speaking to the Forest Focus podcast.

So, what has Wilson said about Forest and where does he see Boly fitting in when he returns to action? Let’s take a closer look…

What Kelvin Wilson has said about Forest star Willy Boly

Well, it’s fair to say that Forest have missed Boly during the time he has spent at the African Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast.

Forest haven’t won a Premier League game since he headed off to the tournament and conceding from set pieces is proving a real concern.

Wilson, however, believes that Forest would have been much better off defensively had Boly been in the team, suggesting he should play when he’s back.

He told the Forest Focus podcast: “I think he needs to pick a team where we’re able to defend. Yes, you want your defenders that can pass out from the back but I think if you put Willy Boly in that team a lot of the goals we concede from set pieces probably don’t get conceded.

“He does attack the ball and heads the ball, not just because of his height. I just think he’s an aggressive player and that’s what we’re missing at the minute.”

Boly has to be under consideration by Nuno Espirito Santo

Nothing against the players who had played but Forest have missed Boly’s aerial presence in their back four over the last few weeks.

In Espirito Santo’s debut game, he was harshly sent off and subsequently had to miss the trip to Newcastle on Boxing Day.

Boly came on as a substitute against Manchester United but since then he’s been off winning the AFCON with his country.

Forest have conceded nine goals in four games since Boly headed off and clearly, he’s missed on Trentside.

In our view, Wilson is spot on and if Boly is available to Forest against West Ham this weekend, he simply had to be picked.
