‘Needs To Improve A Lot’… Nuno Thinks 22-Year-Old Nottingham Forest Star Can Get Even Better

Nuno Espirito Santo has claimed that Danilo can become a top player at Nottingham Forest, but he must improve certain aspects.

The head coach has been speaking with ESPN Brazil.

So, what has Espirito Santo said about Forest midfielder Danilo? Let’s take a closer look…

What Nuno Espirito Santo has said about Nottingham Forest star Danilo

The youngster has been called upon a number of times by Espirito Santo since Ibrahim Sangare headed to the African Cup of Nations.

However, some Forest fans are perhaps a little uncertain over what type of player Danilo is.

He scored a brilliant goal in a game against Brentford last month and also notched against Blackpool in the FA Cup.

Espirito Santo is a big fan of Forest player Danilo and he’s been discussing the 22-year-old during a recent interview.

He told ESPN Brazil: “That’s very important. When a player arrives in a league as difficult as the Premier League, where you compete against a very high level, you need time. Danilo needs time, he has a lot of growing to do, he has very good qualities.

“He’s a midfielder with a lot of ability to cover the pitch, with stamina, to play out wide, he’s got a goal, as he’s shown, he’s got a good arrival in the area.

“Now, there are aspects that he needs to improve a lot, such as his decision-making, the accuracy of his passes, there are aspects he needs to improve. He has a lot of potential, we want to make him grow so that he can be the player we all hope for, a top player.”

Danilo can become fan favourite at the City Ground

The talented player only cost the club £16 million when he signed from Palmeiras and he’d rake in huge profit if he’s ever sold.

Danilo scored some vitally important goals for Forest last season. This time around, he’s been forced to bounce back from a troublesome hamstring problem.

Espirito Santo is clearly a big fan of the player. As a result, he will keep working with him and the aim will be to improve his qualities further.

Danilo may find it quite tricky to get in the team once everyone is fit but with Forest still in the FA Cup, he should get some opportunities to shine.

At 22, there is still time on his side. With that in mind, it will be fascinating to see how Danilo kicks on at Forest.
