What AC Milan hope will happen with Divock Origi after he scores his first goal for Forest

AC Milan are now hoping that Divock Origi can grow into some form at Nottingham Forest after his first goal.

This comes from Milan Live.

So, what has been said about Origi and his future at Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

What AC Milan are hoping happens to Divock Origi at Nottingham Forest
Well, it would appear that the San Siro giants are still confident that Origi can catch fire at Forest during his season-long loan.

According to Milan Live, the club were happy to see Origi score his first goal for the club in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.

It was claimed during the January transfer window that Los Angeles were ready to take Origi to the MLS but Forest blocked the move.

The Reds needed to keep Origi with Chris Wood now set for around eight weeks on the sidelines.

Forest have an option to buy Origi for £4 million at the end of his current deal – but right now the club doesn’t want to activate it.

Origi has struggled for game time and prior to his start against Bristol City, he’s played just 178 minutes for the club.

Origi will have to some way to prove himself
It’s hard to imagine that Forest will activate the purchase option to sign Origi – even if the club can survive relegation this season.

The 28-year-old just hasn’t done enough and his only goal came against a Championship team.

Forest will have to be seriously impressed with Origi in the final months of the 2023/24 campaign if he’s to have any chance of a permanent move.

The report suggests that the player will definitely leave AC Milan in the summer.

Their hope is that Forest will be convinced by the end of the season and take up the option to sign Origi permanently.

Forest will give the striker more game time between now and the end of the season, with Wood out for a little while.

However, in our view, it’s hard to imagine that Origi will do enough and this short-term arrangement will remain as such.
