Galatasaray Transfer News As Ridvan Yilmaz Exit Update Emerges At Rangers

Ridvan Yilmaz is expected to force a last-gap January transfer away from Rangers to join Galatasaray, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish news outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (24 January) that the 22-year-old left-back was persuaded to join the Super Lig club in meetings a while ago, but the Gers were not keen on the loan offer presented and were insistent on a transfer fee being involved.

It added that the Istanbul-based side will hold more talks with the Light Blues this week to convince them to allow a temporary switch for the Turkish international, where they will emphasise that a compulsory purchase agreement will be based on certain “performance and stability conditions”.

Standing firm

It appears as though Rangers are standing firm on their stance over Yilmaz as they are adamant that they want a transfer fee to be included in the deal.

That is completely fair because it would make no sense for the club to simply allow a first-team player to leave on loan without any money exchanging hands.

The defender has been heavily involved under Philippe Clement over the past few weeks, so he would need to have a replacement lined up before any deal can proceed.

Clement

If Galatasaray want to agree on a loan deal, then they are going to have put a cash incentive down on the table for the Gers, whether that’s a loan fee or a decent option to buy.

With talks set to take place over the coming days, this story is likely to develop quicker now as the transfer window heads into its final few days.

In other Rangers news, a manager who wants to sign one Gers star this month has made a transfer admission.
