Jim Harbaugh Interviews With Atlanta Falcons

It’s been a busy week for Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. Michigan won the national championship on January 8, Harbaugh and the team had a parade and celebration on Saturday in Ann Arbor, and now Harbaugh’s interviewed with two NFL teams in as many days.

On Monday Harbaugh interviewed with the Los Angeles Chargers.

And on Tuesday Harbaugh interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons reported the news after the interview was conducted.

The Falcons have been busy interviewing potential candidates including former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald and assistant head coach Anthony Weaver, Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks thus far. The Falcons finished the 2023 season 7-10 and fired head coach Arthur Smith.

There’s every reason to think more teams with a head coach vacancy will interview Harbaugh and the interviews won’t cease with just the Chargers and Falcons. Other teams needing a head coach include the Washington Commanders, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, and Carolina Panthers.

This is the third season in a row in which Harbaugh has interviewed with NFL teams. Two years ago he interviewed with the Minnesota Vikings, last year he interviewed with the Denver Broncos. However, it’s fair to say things are a bit different this time around — Harbaugh’s stock has never been higher after leading Michigan to their first outright national championship since 1948. An NFL team would be foolish not to consider hiring someone like Harbaugh, who’s built a team from the ground up wherever he’s been (San Diego Toreros, Stanford Cardinal, San Francisco 49ers, and Michigan).
