Worrall, Signings, Exits – Every Word Nuno Has Said On Nottingham Forest Transfer Plans

Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds head coach Nuno Espirito Santo faces key January transfer window

It is likely to be a relatively quiet transfer window for Nottingham Forest, but that doesn’t make it any less important.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been assessing his squad since his appointment last month. As soon as he took up post, the Portuguese head coach stressed it was a clean slate for everyone. He wanted to run the rule over players before making “hard decisions” about their futures.

Trimming numbers is the priority, but the Reds are still keen to strengthen in some areas. Below is a look at what Nuno has had to say on the subject of transfers.

On making calls on players’ futures…

“We all have to realise that we have a big squad and the moment will come when we have to make hard decisions. Every game and every training session has to be a moment for us to know them better so we can take the right decisions for the club.”

On having a bloated squad…

That’s obvious. For now, we have to focus on the players that are here. Trying to give every player a chance to improve, that’s our responsibility.

“I truly believe individually they can improve. We’ve seen players that are in a good moment and it will be a good chance for everyone, then will be the moment to make decisions about the squad and all of these things. For now, what we’re doing is taking care of how we can put all the details in to improve them so they can do better for Forest.”
