Mats Wilander recently made a “bold prediction” that either Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner will achieve the Calendar Grand Slam in 2025. This involves winning all four Majors, the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon Championships, and the US Open in a single calendar year.
Sinner has won two Grand Slam titles and an impressive 17 singles titles on the ATP Tour, including four Masters 1000 titles to date. He won both the Majors In 2024 – he emerged victorious at the Australian Open by defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final and won the US Open by triumphing over Taylor Fritz.
Alcaraz, on the other hand, has claimed four Grand Slam titles and 16 ATP tour-level singles titles, including five ATP Masters 1000 titles so far in his career. His first Grand Slam title came in 2022 at the US Open, where he defeated Casper Ruud in the final.
The former World No.1 has two Wimbledon titles to his name, having won in 2023 and 2024 by defeating Novak Djokovic on both occasions. He also secured the French Open title this year by defeating Alexander Zverev in the final
Recently while speaking to Eurosport, Mats Wilander shared his predictions for the upcoming 2025 season. He stated that either Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner has the potential to achieve the Calendar Grand Slam.
