Raducanu Reveals Unique Reason for Hiring Osaka’s Former Fitness Coach

British tennis star Emma Raducanu has made headlines by bringing in Abdul Sillah, former fitness coach to Naomi Osaka, as part of her team. The 21-year-old, known for her remarkable 2021 US Open triumph, cited a “unique connection” to Sillah’s approach as a key reason behind the decision.

Raducanu revealed that her primary motivation was Sillah’s ability to tailor fitness regimes to individual needs, something she found lacking in her previous setups. “What stood out about Abdul was his ability to understand the mental and physical demands of top-tier tennis. He’s worked with champions, and his insights into handling pressure while maintaining peak physical fitness are exactly what I need right now,” Raducanu explained.

The move comes at a critical juncture in Raducanu’s career as she aims to rebuild momentum after a season marred by injuries and inconsistency. The Brit has faced repeated challenges in staying healthy, undergoing multiple surgeries earlier this year. “I’ve learned that staying on the court is as important as improving my game. Abdul’s expertise can help me achieve that balance,” she added.

Sillah is best known for his work with Osaka, helping her during her meteoric rise to world No. 1. His holistic approach to fitness, incorporating recovery strategies and mental resilience, aligns with Raducanu’s current focus on long-term stability.

Fans and analysts see this as a promising step for Raducanu as she gears up for the 2024 season. “Having someone like Abdul in my corner feels like a game-changer. I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together,” Raducanu said optimistically.

As Raducanu begins pre-season training, her partnership with Sillah is expected to play a crucial role in her quest to reclaim the spotlight in wome
