Alabama football’s CFP odds: See UA’s chances to win national championship

Alabama football remains in the hunt for a berth in the College Football Playoff, although Saturday’s win over Mercer did little to nothing to advance the cause. With an 8-2 record entering the final two games of the regular season, UA must knock off Oklahoma and Auburn, then perhaps score a win in the SEC title game, to secure a CFP berth.

So what’s the likelihood of the Crimson Tide winning a CFP national championship in new coach Kalen DeBoer’s first season? We’re still three weeks away from seeing the official CFP bracket, but CFP odds have already been posted at BetMGM.com on college football’s top contenders to win it all.

At +750, a bet on the Crimson Tide to win the national championship is currently paying 7.5-1, so a $1 risk would return $7.50. That’s a dip from where Alabama’s odds were a week ago; prior to this weekend’s action, the Crimson Tide was paying +1000 (10-1). Available odds to win a national title among all SEC teams are as follows: Texas (+500), Georgia (+500), Alabama (+750), Ole Miss (+1100), Tennessee (+4000), Texas A&M (+10000) and South Carolina (+50000).
