Francesco Bagnaia isn’t thinking about results that could cost him the title in Sepang

Jorge Martín could become MotoGP world champion this Sunday if he earns at least 21 more points than Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) at the Malaysian GP in Sepang.

For that to happen, a combination of results would be required – one that has been unusual this season, especially as Bagnaia would need to score very few points, which has rarely happened so far.

However, it has happened before: at the French GP in May, Martín took all 37 points from both wins, while Bagnaia didn’t score in the Sprint and finished third in the main race, collecting 16 points.

Although the possibility of losing the title in Sepang is real, the Ducati rider from Italy did not appear apprehensive, stating in a press conference:

– I think it’s difficult that I will do a zero and a third place. And it’s unpredictable whether we have Jorge winning both races. So, we have to live the weekend and then understand what will happen.
