Eli Tomac, the celebrated American Supercross star, has set his sights on the upcoming 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship, making headlines with his firm goal to win. Now riding with CDR Yamaha, Tomac is joining a highly competitive field, including defending champion Ken Roczen, for the 450cc class’s season opener on October 26 at Vancouver’s BC Place. Tomac’s excitement for the season is palpable, stating he aims to relive his past success from 2022 when he took the Cardiff title.
The Vancouver race, set to kick off a multi-nation championship series, represents a new chapter for Tomac, who hasn’t competed in any of the championship’s upcoming venues. As he puts it, this will be a chance to explore new ground in Australia and Abu Dhabi later in the season. His presence is expected to draw massive crowds, particularly fans thrilled to see one of Supercross’s biggest names battle for the top podium spot. With his exceptional record, which includes two AMA Supercross 450SX championships and numerous race wins, Tomac’s return is seen as a key storyline for 2024.
Team principal Craig Dack praised Tomac, calling him a “fan favorite” and “one of the hardest charging” racers in the sport. Dack, alongside fans and analysts, anticipates Tomac’s aggressive and determined racing style will bring intense excitement to the 2024 season.
Following Vancouver, the series will move to Australia in November and culminate in December at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena, making for a truly global showdown.
