Jannik Sinner ‘wakes up thinking about Carlos Alcaraz’ after winning £4.6m showdown

Jannik Sinner beat Carlos Alcaraz to win the Six Kings Slam.

Jannik Sinner has made an unusual confession about his rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz.

The world No. 1 beat the Spaniard in the final of the Six Kings Slam exhibition to pocket a record £4.6million prize money cheque.

Afterwards, Sinner said he “wakes up in the morning” thinking about how to beat the four-time Grand Slam champion.

Sinner and Alcaraz renewed their rivalry at a Saudi Arabia exhibition event on Saturday. The Italian had lost all three of his tour-level meetings with Alcaraz this season and was looking to get one back.

Alcaraz reached the final by beating Holger Rune and Rafael Nadal back-to-back while Sinner downed Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic. It was his second victory over the 24-time Major champion in the space of five days.

But the world No. 1 couldn’t enjoy his wins – he was fully focused on beating Alcaraz. Sinner got his wish, he came from a set down to win the inaugural Six Kings Slam 6-7(5) 6-3 6-3.

And he later admitted he woke up thinking about his rival. “We try to push ourselves to the limit,” Sinner said.
