Why Andoni Iraola is not on the Bournemouth touchline as boss is absent against rivals Southampton following yellow card confusion

Bournemouth will take on Southampton tonight at the Vitality Stadium but they will be without their manager on the touchline.

The Cherries come into the game off the back of 3-0 defeat to Liverpool while the Saints are still waiting for their first win of the campaign.

Russell Martin will be desperate to get his side’s first three points, and he may fancy his chances more knowing that Andoni Iraola won’t be in the opposing dugout.

Here’s why the Spaniard is going to be in the stands for the south coast derby instead…

Why is Iraola not on the touchline?

Iraola is suspended for Bournemouth’s clash with Southampton.

Managers and coaches receive a ban after three yellows while players are allowed five before action is taken.

Iraola received a yellow against Newcastle in August before picking up another caution in the Carabao Cup away at West Ham.

The third then came in controversial circumstances against Liverpool last weekend
