The long-serving apprentice and dormant champion the Broncos should call

Broncos Urged to Call on Dormant Champion Jarrett Stidham to Revitalize Season

By: Sports Desk

As the Denver Broncos continue to struggle this season, calls are growing louder for a change at quarterback. Many fans and analysts believe that the long-serving apprentice, Jarrett Stidham, is the dormant champion the Broncos should consider turning to as the team looks to salvage its campaign.

Stidham, who was signed as a backup to Russell Wilson in 2023, has quietly developed his skills behind some of the NFL’s best. Drafted by the New England Patriots in 2019, Stidham spent time learning under legendary quarterback Tom Brady and later gained experience during short stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and other teams. Despite showing flashes of promise, Stidham has yet to fully step into the starting role many believe he’s capable of mastering.

This season, the Broncos’ offense has struggled under Wilson’s leadership, leaving fans questioning if the 35-year-old veteran can still return to his MVP-caliber form. While Wilson has undeniable talent and experience, inconsistency and a lack of chemistry with the offense have led to calls for a new approach.

Enter Stidham. Seen by some as the ideal successor-in-waiting, the 27-year-old has had time to learn the Broncos’ system and develop under head coach Sean Payton. His arm strength, mobility, and intelligence are all assets that could provide the Broncos with a spark they desperately need.

While it’s unclear whether Payton is considering a quarterback change, many believe it’s time to give Stidham a chance. If the Broncos want to turn their season around, now might be the perfect opportunity to call on their dormant champion and see if Stidham can deliver.
