Dallas Cowboys’ biggest secret exposed by Dak Prescott and could leave team vulnerable

The QB knows why the defense is so good

The Dallas Cowboys got off to a perfect start in the 2024 season. Traveling to Cleveland, the team dominated the Browns in all phases. Thankfully for Dak Prescott, the quarterback didn’t have to do too much to get the victory.

That’s because the Cowboys defense played lights out. A relentless pass rush sacked Deshaun Watson six times and forced him into two interceptions. Prescott just had to take care of the ball and move the chains, which is exactly what he did

Dak Prescott explains why Cowboys defense is elite

On Wednesday, Prescott revealed what exactly the team does on defense that makes them so good. In fact, he mentioned that he couldn’t even do well against them in training camp.

It’s not necessarily giving away their secret, but Prescott essentially admits that Mike Zimmer’s defense wants to disguise coverages before the snap. That allows them to “confuse” opposing signal-callers, making them doubt themselves when reading coverages. That makes it easier for the pass rushers to make it home.

Although the secret may be out, it’s still extremely difficult for quarterbacks to plan and prepare for this. The Cowboys defense should continue to feast on opposing quarterbacks all season.
