Jannik Sinner submitted to a series of quick questions in a video released by the ATP Tour on its social channels, among which obviously one could not be missing on who is the GOAT.
The Italian lent himself and reacted by indicating the name of an ATP Tour player to each question proposed. Some answers may seem predictable, others very interesting.
A question, and it certainly couldn’t be missed – as mentioned – was about who is the GOAT.
“From my point of view is Roger Federer,” said Sinner pointed with extreme sincerity, putting aside Rafael Nadal and, especially, Novak Djokovic.
With 55 victories in 60 matches played, the Italian has become the absolute protagonist of the 2024 season, reaching his first triumphs at Slam level and the top of the world rankings. The only one who could keep up with him was Carlos Alcaraz, winner of both Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Tennis is definitely in good hands with these two looking to the future without the Big Three, who have dominated for the last two decades.
In teh same interview, the world number 1 could not help but mention his great friend Hubert Hurkacz, as the friendliest guy on the tour. While Gael Monfils was identified as the funniest tennis player in the locker room.
The 23-year-old Italian has one athlete in particular that he hates outside the top 20: “Aljaz Bedene, I always struggled with him on the court. I’m happy he retired!”
Jannik also revealed that Frances Tiafoe is the one who speaks the most on the court and considers Roberto Bautista Agut the most underrated tennis player on Tour.
