The Brisbane Lions have named defenders Brandon Starcevich and Jack Payne to face Carlton in Saturday night’s Elimination Final.
Starcevich (hamstring) and Payne (foot) were both confirmed this week as available for selection after overcoming their respective injuries.
The pair trained strongly on Thursday giving senior coach Chris Fagan and the match committee the confidence to bring them both back in for the do-or-die final clash.
Making way for the duo is fellow defender Darragh Joyce, who has performed strongly in Payne’s absence, and hard-running midfielder Harry Sharp.
The Lions have listed both Joyce and Sharp as emergencies alongside ruck-forward Darcy Fort who recorded 68 hit outs and 12 clearance in last week’s VFL semi-final.
Saturday night’s Elimination Final is scheduled for 7:30pm at the Gabba, with the match broadcast live on Seven, Fox Footy and Kayo.
